Hannah Saunders, the founder of Toddle, is the first winner of our #EntrepreneurialSpirit competition, winning a free bottle of Didsbury Gin!
The competition, which we launched at the end of April, sees us recognise someone showing true entrepreneurial spirit every month.
Hannah had to overcome some big challenges in May, replacing her Chinese manufacturer of a year after seeing a drop in quality.
Toddle is a natural range of skincare products designed specifically for babies and children whose parents lead an active lifestyle. Manufacturing quality had to be perfect, but that wasn’t what Hannah was seeing. So she decided to cut ties at the start of the month, focusing on regrouping, reformulating and finding a British manufacturer.
The best part, Hannah says, is that Toddle is now vegan-friendly and PETA approved.
“We’ve shown spirit by not giving up,” she said, “but we need gin!”
GBEA founder, Francesca James, said: “Congratulations to Hannah on being the first winner of our #EntrepreneurialSpirit competition. How you respond in the face of challenges and adversity is an incredibly important part of entrepreneurial spirit, and Hannah has bounced back incredibly well after losing her manufacturer at the start of the month.”
Liam and Mark at Didsbury Gin, said: “Congratulations to Hannah from Toddle! Despite some huge knock backs, Hannah has kept pushing on and hasn’t given up on her goal. Keep your chin up, and fill your gin up! Well deserved, entrepreneur of the month”.
