The Great British Entrepreneur Awards is delighted to announce Make it British as its newest partner for 2021.
Make it British promotes amazing British-made brands and helps businesses get their products manufactured in the UK. Founded by Kate Hills, a former designer and buyer with 30 years experience in retail, Make it British is passionate about making in the UK and shining a light on British brands and local manufacturing.
Since launching in 2011, it has worked with thousands of businesses to find and successfully work with UK manufacturers, supporting countless more to grow their British-made brands.
Make it British will support the Made in the UK Award, a new category for 2021 which will recognise an entrepreneur whose business manufactures its products in the UK, whether their products have always been UK-made or have recently switched.
Now in its ninth year, the Great British Entrepreneur Awards acknowledges the hard work and inspiring stories of entrepreneurs and businesses in the United Kingdom. Central to its ethos is being more than just ‘an awards ceremony’ – it’s a sense of community, and a thriving ecosystem of support all year round that provide opportunities for winners and finalists to connect and showcase their business.
Francesca James, founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Make it British as our newest partner. Manufacturing products in the UK allows businesses to promote greener and more sustainable practices, helps to sustain and support local economies, and pass on and retain skills. It’s hugely important that we recognise those businesses and the entrepreneurs driving that approach.”
Kate Hills, CEO and founder of Make it British, said: “There has never been a better time to manufacture in the UK. It helps to create jobs, gives a boost to the UK economy, and offers huge sustainability benefits. We’re excited to be partnering with the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and thrilled to work together on an award dedicated to recognising those businesses that make it British.”
