Craft beer company BrewDog has added to accolades received at the 2014 Great British Entrepreneur Awards by reported record profits.
BrewDog was named the Great British Entrepreneur of the Year, Food & Drink Entrepreneur of the Year and Retail Entrepreneur of the Year.
The Glasgow-based company reported profits £4.9 million in 2014, up 69% from 2013 and its highest ever total. Turnover was up by a similarly strong figure – 64% from £18m to £29.6m.
BrewDog opened 12 new bars in 2014, taking its total to 26. Six were opened in the UK, in Liverpool, Cardiff, Dundee, Sheffield, Clapham Junction and Ellon, with another six international bars; Tokyo, São Paulo, Gothenburg, Florence, Bologna and Helsinki.
The Great British Entrepreneur Awards winners now employ 360 people and export to 55 countries.
Co-founder James Watt said: “2014 was an epic year for BrewDog and the craft beer industry as a whole.
“Not only did we continue to grow at breakneck speed and secure more footholds of craft beer awesomeness all around the world, but we were able to improve processes and efficiencies to ensure we deliver the optimum flavour experience every time.

“When we launched in 2007, we never expected to be where we are today, but our success continues to prove that there is an insatiable thirst for great craft beer, and a huge opportunity for businesses doing things differently to thrive in challenging economic times.”
