We’ve got some big news – it’s hardly a shock given the title of this post, but we’re opening for entries for the 2019 Natwest Great British Entrepreneur Awards two weeks today!
2018 was a fantastic year for us as we received 3,000 entries, shortlisted 300 entrepreneurs and crowned 58 regional winners and 13 national winners. But we can’t wait to start the 2019 programme as we enter our seventh year. We’ll be returning to Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester and London for our regional finals.
And this year, we’re excited to announce two new categories; Food & Drink Entrepreneur of the Year which returns for the first time since 2016 and the brand new Health & Beauty Entrepreneur of the Year category.
Over the years, we’ve celebrated entrepreneurs with incredible stories that have gone on to become household names in British business; Julie Deane OBE of Cambridge Satchel Company, James Watt of BrewDog, Shaun Pulfrey of Tangle Teezer and most recently, Alan & Juliet Barratt of Grenade.
Speaking after being crowned national Great British Entrepreneur of the Year for 2018, Juliet, said: “Awards like this are so special and humbling. They remind you that all the endless hours of work, sleepless nights, compromises, challenges, highs and lows have all been worth it.”
It’s messages like this that perfectly encompass why we run these Awards, and why we’re so passionate about celebrating entrepreneurship in the UK.
If you’re reading this, you could very well be the 2019 Great British Entrepreneur of the Year! Among 3,000 or more entries, even being shortlisted is a huge honour. So, over the next couple of weeks, spend some time thinking about your entrepreneurial story and what makes it so great.
We want to hear it!
