Tim Edwards is a Professor of Organisation and Innovation Analysis at Cardiff Business School, and co-founder of the Responsible Innovation Network (www.responsible-innovation.net). Tim holds a Ph.D. in Innovation Studies from Aston Business School. Before becoming an academic Tim was a freelance researcher working for the Home Office’s Research and Planning Unit.
Tim’s research has primarily been based on institutional change and innovation with projects on SMEs in industrial South wales, the super yacht industry and the Japanese craft industry in Kyoto. The emphasis of Tim’s research work has recently expanded into two additional areas including (i) public value with projects on social impact in Eritrea and Citizen Science in Brazil and (ii) women in the economy and entrepreneurship. His work has been published in world-leading academic journals while recent collaborations has included working closely with a number of NGOs, and Welsh government. Tim has been involved in a range of teaching roles including modules on entrepreneurship at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has been a teaching innovator developing specialised access modules with the Welsh refugee Council for adult learners interested in entrepreneurship. This includes working closely with the student enterprise charity, Enactus. His work was recently recognised when he was made a Public Value Engagement Fellow by Cardiff Business School. He is an Associate Editor for the Journal Organisation and a Consulting Editor for the International Journal of Management Reviews. He is also a member of the ESRC peer review college.
