Dr Steve Ewing is Director of Entrepreneurship for the Bayes Innovation Programme based in the University of Edinburgh’s Bayes Centre, which connects, educates and supports globally ambitious technology entrepreneurs in Scotland and beyond.
In this role, Steve directs the leading investor readiness programme, Engage Invest Exploit (EIE). Since inception in 2008, EIE Scotland has enabled over £700m of investment into early-stage Scottish technology companies.
In his previous roles at the University of Edinburgh, Steve helped build industry support for the successful bid to ESPRC to establish the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics which trains researchers to make fundamental advances in the theory, development and commercialisation of robotics and AI.
Prior to joining the University of Edinburgh in 2008, Steve was a biotechnology equities analyst at Deutsche Bank AG in the City of London. Steve holds a B.Sc.(Hons) in immunology (University of Glasgow, Carnegie Scholar) and a Ph.D. in virus immunology (University of Oxford, Pirie-Reid Scholar).
