Matt Gubba

Matt Gubba is the award winning CEO & founder of BizBritain, a leading provider of alternative start up finance, and of the largest brokers of UK government funded Start Up Loans.

From an early age, Matt knew following the standard route of formal education, followed by a life working for someone else wasn’t for him. So at age 16, whilst running his own business, he made the decision to leave school and follow a more entrepreneurial path.

In 2012 Matt founded BizBritain, an organisation which works closely with the UK government and to date has funded more than 2,000 entrepreneurs to the tune of £20 million. Most recently, BizBritain has partnered with specialist lender ThinCats to launch a £50 Million growth loan fund to support SMEs in the West Midlands.

Matt is passionate about supporting young entrepreneurs who’ve decided not to go to university, and regularly speaks on the topic of “success without a degree”.

He has judged at a wide variety of different entrepreneurial awards over the years, including: The Shell Live Wire, The Good Web Guide Awards, Peter Jones’ Enterprise Academy Enterprise Challenge, Sage’s Mentoring Matters Awards, The Business Leader Awards and more.
