Lawrence Jones MBE is founder and CEO of UKFast, an internet hosting and cloud technology business with numerous awards for culture, customer service, innovation and leadership.
In 18 years he has led its phenomenal growth from a startup in a spare bedroom to a £350 million business empire, employing over 400 team members and providing ultra-secure hosting to 6,000 clients including SMEs, large enterprises, government and public sector. Lawrence has a history of promoting British digital business and in 2015 he was awarded an MBE by the Queen for his outstanding contribution to the digital economy.
Jones’s security firm Secarma employs more than 50 ethical hackers and is a trailblazer in its field, supporting global, blue chip clients.
The training and education centre at UKFast’s Campus HQ in Manchester represents a £4.5m investment. The firm works with more than 60,000 children and 60 schools across Greater Manchester, inspiring them towards a career in tech with digital masterclasses, workshops and code clubs.
A passionate supporter of ‘buying British’, Lawrence champions Manchester as a thriving tech city to rival the likes of San Francisco, London and Tel Aviv.
