Chimera Communications

Jill has had a wide-ranging career in public relations (PR), sales and marketing for over 35 years working at senior management level within the blue chip, not-for-profit/charity and independent sectors.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of PR (CIPR), her work has included managing PR for companies including TSB Trustcard and Downland Housing Group. She is also a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents.

Her experience has covered PR strategy, sales, marketing, advertising, media training, crisis PR management, branding strategy and implementation, internal and external communications, stakeholder engagement, event and conference management, social media management and training, and more.

Jill chaired the National Housing Federation South Regions’ Communications Network and was acting Head of Communications for the NHF and Project Manager for their iN business for neighbourhoods project, rebranding social housing nationally. She has been a Regional Committee member of the Chartered Institute of PR and a judge in the CIPR’s prestigious national PRide awards.

Jill was also a non-executive board director of the first social enterprise communications company in the country. She is a regular contributor to newspapers and magazines on business and communications issues and is an accomplished speaker and trainer.

Now a Vice-President and Lead Ambassador for Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce, Jill is a regular mentor to start-up businesses and those on a path of development and growth, notably for the NatWest Entrepreneurial Accelerator in Brighton.

She is also a mentor for Brighton & Hove City Council and Brighton Chamber’s ‘Ride the Wave’, Brighton’s biggest annual business support programme; as well as for the Entrepreneurship Programme at the School of Business, Management and Economics at the University of Sussex.

She has run her own PR and marketing consultancy, Chimera Communications, since 2003, working with an enormous variety of commercial and not-for-profit clients, and has a small theatrical agency, Chimera Entertainments.
