Dawn Whiteley was CEO of National Enterprise Network between 2011 and 2017. Previously she had worked at Business Link in Yorkshire where she had undertaken a variety of roles since 2008, most latterly as Head of Enterprise. Dawn is highly respected within the sector and has in-depth knowledge of the Network having served for five years on the Board prior to taking up an executive role.
Before joining Business Link Yorkshire, Dawn was General Manager of a Network member, West Yorkshire Enterprise Agency who were then one of the largest independent enterprise agencies in the UK, employing over 120 people and with a turnover in excess of £5m pa.
Dawn is an external representative supporting HMRC change projects, was member of the SFEDI Advisory Council until 2017, a Director of Customer First UK, the national standard for customer service until 2016 and was Deputy Chair of the Action Halifax Partnership until its closure in 2010.
Dawn was awarded an MBE for services to business support and enterprise in the Queen’s 90th Birthday Honours in June 2016, she is a Fellow of the RSA and a Member of the IoD.
Outside of work Dawn has a specific interest in education, having been a school governor for more than 15 years and is currently Chair of Governors of a local federated primary school. She also has interests in a variety of sports, most notably as a season ticket holder at Huddersfield Town, a member and regular spectator of Yorkshire county cricket. She is a devoted auntie to four nephews.
