Christine is Deputy Director of the University of South Wales Centre for Excellence in Enterprise and is Head of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Hub which she founded in 2008. Since that time, she has directed a number of flagship projects including Women’s Entrepreneurship in the European Union (WEEU) (an EUR 350,000 project with partners in France and Lithuania), Women Adding Value to the Economy (WAVE) (a £5 million ESF project with partners in Wales: Cardiff University and BAWSO) and is currently Director of Developing Entrepreneurial Women – Changing Horizons (DEWCH) (an EUR 200,000 project with partners in France and Greece). Christine also lectures in Enterprise and Small Business Management; her research interests are in gender and entrepreneurship, female entrepreneurship and women’s entrepreneurship education.
Prior to returning to an academic career in 1999, Christine ran her own successful businesses in the North East of England and in South Wales. She has a long-standing involvement in supporting women’s enterprise and women’s business networking. She received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion in 2014 and the UK Enterprise Educator of the Year Award in 2016.
