Caroline Thompson is the newly appointed CEO of the Be The Spark CIC.
Be The Spark, launched at the end of June, is a movement designed to connect like-minded people and bring together innovation and entrepreneurship.
Nine of Wales’ most prominent figures from business and academia have joined forces to start this movement, aiming to build a community that will help transform Wales, inspire the next generation and ultimately trigger more start-ups, more innovation and commercialisation, more opportunities and more jobs.
Now Be The Spark is calling on entrepreneurs, business experts or those with a business idea to get involved, share ideas and activities and seek support from the programme.
Prior to taking up her position with Be The Spark, Caroline was the NatWest lead for the Entrepreneurial Spark accelerator hubs in both Bristol and then Cardiff that provide free support, mentoring, networking and office accommodation for entrepreneurs. In its first six months the hub in the flagship location of Cardiff’s One Central Square supported 64 businesses which between them created 95 jobs, raised £1.05 million in investment and saw a total turnover of more than £6.4 million.
Caroline has over 28 years experience in banking in variety of different roles across divisions, with 12 years experience of leading teams.
